NAC promotes a special “Earn Your Spurs” award for the youth of the club. In order to
Earn Your Spurs you must:
- Be a member of NAC while earning all parts of the award.
- Volunteer for 10 hours at NAC sponsored functions. Hours need to be verified by an adult NAC member. The form for recording volunteer hours is included on the website.
- Earn at least 100 National Points in youth classes at NAC pointed or crosspointed shows. Twenty-Five (25) points come from showmanship and at least twenty (20) points in three different categories. The remaining fifteen (15) points are elective and may be earned in any youth class. (Novice, lead-line, and walk-Trot classes may be elective points only.) You may use multiple horses to win this award.
- Earn you Certificate of Recognition from the National Club.

Category 2Camas Prairie Stump Race, Nez Perce Stake Race, Jumping, Figure 8 Stake Race, Keyhole Race.
Category 3Trail, Western Riding, Western Pleasure, Saddle Seat Pleasure, Hunter Hack, Working Hunter, Hunter Under Saddle, Heritage.
Category 4
Reining, Tie-Down Roping, Breakaway Roping, Cutting, Heading and Heeling, Steer Daubing.
Category 5
Halter Mares, Halter Geldings, Hunter-in-Hand Mares, Hunter-in-Hand Geldings.
The points acquired through a NAC Club Lease are not eligible towards the Earn Your Spurs award, because those points do not count as National Points. NAC Club Lease points only count towards year end high point awards.
